Drug trafficking in Brazil has an impact on the security, economic and social aspects of the country. Factors such as Brazil’s geographical position, which makes the country one of the main routes for drug trafficking with its neighboring countries in South America, and the high rate of urban violence directly influence the growth of this type of crime in Brazil. And although it is a national issue, it’s important to highlight the impact of drug trafficking in each of the country’s federal units.

For this reason, in order to show how this matter affects all parts of Brazil separately, we have prepared the file below which shows the numbers of drug trafficking occurrences in each of the country’s five regions and in each of its states between January and April of this year.
